Turning Passion into a Career

It all began with a love for trees and the outdoors. Marty founded ArborCare nearly 15 years ago and continues to have a passion for tree care. Each day he can work outside is a good day. Megan joins him in this passion, bringing her long-time adoration for trees, our environment, and people, to the team. Jon has been fascinated with climbing for as far back as he can remember. He and Marty share a climbing obsession, not just for trees, but for mountains and walls too. Next up in their adventures: the Black Canyon followed by El Cap and Half Dome. While Megan enjoys practicing climbing skills, her true love is horses. Though her parents thought she’d outgrow this obsession, she remains a devoted equestrian in any/all of her spare time. Tim often helps out on jobs, but we’ve seen him off to RIT for computer engineering. He lends a hand when he’s able and we’re happy for his help along with his refreshingly quippy sense of humor.

Each tree removal, tree prune, tree treatment, or tree cabling/bracing is different. This keeps us all interested and excited to do our jobs. Topping the ‘we love this’ list for Marty and Jon is applying physics and engineering. Each has the ability to simply “see” how to solve a myriad of challenging tree issues. The amount of rigging equipment, climbing gear, ropes, and friction devices actually outnumbers the saws - which is saying something! You are likely to hear them talking out a plan, discussing gear positioning, wood weight, and more technical, tree work specific details. If you ask questions, you’re sure to get a detailed (aka: long) answer.

For all of us, one of the best parts of tree work is the people we meet. Our thanks to all of you for trusting us to help with your tree care needs. Additional thanks for your hospitality, reviews, and referrals.

In official terms:
